# Mt Hutt > Mt Hutt is a commercial ski field in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island, located near Methven and 90 minutes by road from Christchurch. The field is operated by NZSki and runs each year from June through to October, one of the longest ski seasons in New Zealand. Mt Hutt offers terrain across beginner, intermediate, and advanced grades, has on-mountain lessons and rentals, and is the closest commercial ski mountain to a major New Zealand city. The 2026 season runs 12 June to 11 October, with daily operating hours of 9am to 4pm subject to conditions.
